Ah man, what a day this was! Emma & Tom’s Camden Town wedding (with their ceremony at the unique Hampstead Heath Hill Garden and Pergola) was right up my street – totally relaxed, with their closest family and friends, and done totally ‘their’ way. Although I love covering things like first dances and bouquet tosses, it’s also fab when couples just say, “You know what? I don’t fancy doing a first dance. So we’re not going to do one”. After all, it’s your day, you can do whatever you please!
One element of this was the fab interlude between the ceremony and reception, where we walked through Camden Town. So full of life that place! It was so fun to just be around Emma & Tom, capturing them on the street and in the market, just having a bit of a break away; that bit of time together that’s actually quite hard to come by on your wedding day!
The ceremony itself was in the totally beautiful Hampstead Heath Hill Garden and Pergola; my first time as a wedding photographer there, and, wowser, I can totally see that place being fully booked for years to come. They’re not advertising it at the moment, and bookings are just coming through word of mouth, so, if you’re a bride or groom looking for a unique wedding venue in London, I definitely recommend getting in touch with them. Emma & Tom’s intimate ceremony was for around 20 of their closest family and friends, but they can accommodate larger parties too. Check it out! The Prince Albert was their reception venue, too, a fab, very friendly-run place in Camden.
