2015 has been a whirlwind; I literally can’t believe how quickly the year has zoomed by – it only seems like yesterday that I was compiling my favourite images from 2014!
So many amazing things have happened this year, topped off with the birth of my son early in the year. I’ve yet to start training him up (!), but 2015 has seen me run my ‘Law School’ workshops in London, Cornwall, and Leeds – as well as being invited to speak at Snap Photography Festival in Wales – and I must say it’s been fantastic to meet so many photographers from all over the UK. I’m looking forward to running some more workshops in 2016, too.
I’ve been honoured to win numerous awards this year, too, which is always incredibly surreal: Early in the year I won ‘Best Reportage Wedding Photographer’ for the third year running (SWWA), I won two Wedisson awards, six Wedding Photography Select Awards, and, last month, won ‘Best Wedding Photographer’ in the South West at The Wedding Industry Awards. I still shake my head in disbelief reading that back, actually…!
Me and my cameras have been all over the UK and Europe this year; from Scotland to Greece, Cornwall to Norfolk, and many places in between. Next year I’m looking forward to shooting weddings in France and Switzerland, too. Man, who would’ve thought a love of photography could see me travelling all over like this? I really am so lucky to be able to do what I love.
And that all comes down to the couples; thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for liking what I do, trusting me to capture one of the most important days of your lives through my eyes. I – quite obviously! – couldn’t do this without you.
And so, here’s a little roundup of my year; just some of my personal favourites. I hope you enjoy having a browse, and here’s to 2016!
