Beaconside House Wedding Photographer
There are some weddings that just feel effortlessly fun from the moment you arrive — and Cat and Stuart’s day at Beaconside House was exactly that. The kind of day where laughter feels stitched into every moment, where nothing’s too planned or posed, and where everyone seems completely themselves. My absolute favourite kind of day to capture.

That first kiss — close, unguarded, with their friends and family erupting behind them — said everything about the day. Real emotion, no rehearsals, just pure joy. It’s one of those frames where you can almost hear the applause.

Cat’s laugh during Stuart’s speech summed her up completely — full of warmth, energy, and total presence in the moment. You can tell when someone’s laughing not just at the joke, but at the person they love delivering it.

Earlier in the morning, I’d photographed Stuart getting ready, the word “Wonderful” framed just behind him. Couldn’t have planned it better if I tried — it felt like the universe was giving a small, cheeky nod to what was about to unfold.

And then there was Stuart’s mum, absolutely beaming during the speeches. I love moments like that — the pride, the joy, the shared laughter that ripples through generations in a split second.

Weddings are full of those big embraces — like when Stuart’s groomsmen piled in for a hug. It’s not the neat, posed kind of shot. It’s messy, layered, alive — which is exactly why I love it.

A little earlier, I caught his mum wiping a tear from behind that fantastic hat. It’s moments like that — subtle, fleeting — that remind me why documentary wedding photography means so much to me. You can’t stage honesty.

Of course, one of the stand-out memories was seeing Cat walk down the aisle with her mum, both of them absolutely glowing. That mix of excitement and emotion is impossible to fake — and Beaconside House, with its light streaming in and space filled with smiles, was the perfect setting for it.

Later, there was this brilliant moment when Stuart scooped up his nephew — that pure, uncomplicated happiness kids have when they’re part of something big and joyful. It’s the kind of hug you can’t direct; you just have to be ready for it.

The speeches were a goldmine for those unfiltered reactions — more laughter, more close-up joy. I could’ve filled a whole gallery with the expressions from just that part of the day alone.

And then, the first dance — arms wrapped tight, lights low, everyone watching on around them. Beaconside’s dancefloor has this great, intimate energy once the evening hits; you can feel the music in the walls. I love staying late for those moments, when all the formalities are done and it’s just celebration in its purest form.
