Now, this was a first for me: a wedding on New Year’s Eve! Laura and Dean eloped down to Cornwall, at the fab Lusty Glaze Beach, and they chose me to cover the ceremony and for some shots of just the two of them aftwerwards. As well as being my first wedding on 31st December, it was also the first elopement I’d covered, with just myself, the registrars, Amy (the wedding planner down at Lusty Glaze) and her boyfriend (who acted as witnesses) and the couple themselves in attendance.

If you remember what the weather was like in Cornwall around New Year, you’ll see how lucky we were; it had literally been raining solid for days, and continued to do so right up until thirty minutes before the start of their ceremony, when the clouds cleared and the sun shone – very lucky indeed!

These two were such a fun couple to be around, and I had a lovely time with them on the beach; although I was obviously working on NYE, it really didn’t feel like ‘work’ at all. Oh, and thanks to Laura for the lovely little gift she’d made for us all; scrumptious!
