The word that comes to mind when thinking about Claire and John’s wedding at St Kea Church and Heartlands, is most definitely ‘fun’! This really was my kind of wedding, where the bride and groom did things totally their way; no stressing, just a fantastic celebration with their closest friends and family. I love it when couples make the day their own, and this was a great example: no first dance – no dancing at all, actually – cream teas, and a human pyramid…!
Claire and John themselves were just so much fun to be around, too. For example, on the time with just myself and the couple down at Gwennap Pit (a location requested by the couple, and one I wans’t going to argue with, as it’s a pretty unique location for some relaxed wedding portraits) Claire was breaking out some bridal karate! (yes, indeed, just see the shot further below). It’s great when couples can just be themselves, and that’s something that I really try to bring about in my photography, just from the way that I’m hopefully so unintrusive, and not posing or forcing my way on the day or the couple at all – with the aim being that couples really do forget I’m there, or, at least, that a ‘photographer’ is there; they can then just be totally natural, and that’s where the best images lie, in my opinion.
I was able to cover both the bridal prep and groom prep in their case, as John was getting ready literally a two min walk away from Claire, and after that we all headed up to the lovely St Kea Church for a very personal ceremony – John’s uncle actually marrying them, don’t think you can get a much more personal ceremony than that…!
After a brief visit to Gwennap Pit, Heartlands was the next destination for their reception. They had exclusive use of the gardens, which was lovely, and there seemed to be an endless supply of cakes coming from the kitchens.
Thanks, Claire and John, I had such a great time covering your day! Here are a selection of photographs from their day.

Hope you liked this selection of their St Kea Church and Heartlands wedding photos.
