Right, the wedding season is starting to slow down now, so I can finally – finally! – get round to blogging some of the fantastic weddings I’ve been privileged to capture this year. Enter Sophie and Dan, and their awesome wedding at Wembury Church and Langdon Court in Devon…
These two are just so lovely – so much fun – and looking back through their images now I’m reminded at how much I smiled and laughed. It was also highly emotional; when Dan’s dad, who was also his Best Man, gave his speech, and seeing Dan trying to keep it together…well, I admit I couldn’t hold it completely together myself! Capturing weddings is a whirlwind; even though I don’t personally know these people, it’s just so hard to not be swept up and totally emerged in their stories and emotions…and putting this blog post together just brings it all back to me.
But enough of the emotion already, Alan! As I said, this was an incredibly fun wedding, as I hope you’ll see from a selection of their Langdon Court wedding photos below. As an aside – as it’s always, always about the people, for me, that’s what I love about what I do – but the two venues were lovely; the first time I’d been a wedding photographer at Wembury Church and Langdon Court, and they come very highly recommended by myself. But I’m a wedding photographer, not a venue-owner, so enough of the typing, and on to a selection of photos from their day:
absolute brilliance from start to finish. Such a connection in these photos. Exquisite processing too. And *that* first dance photo – wow. Love the speeches emotion too. All amazing.
Alan this is absolutely stunning. I simply love the proximity you add in each photo, it makes me feel like I am right there where you were, and that I am myself another witness to their day. You tell the wedding days with such raw and pure emotions it truly is touching. I absolutely love the black and white frame of them exiting the church, with the groom cheering for being finally married. The photos of them together and alone are all beautiful, and I love the simplicity of the shot of the bride just relaxing by herself by the fireplace. Absolutely stunning work! You are a wizard!
Absolute premier league ripper my son!
Loved this blog Alan, I think you’ve managed to capture just about every emotion in these photos! Absolutely stunning work.
This is stunning!! Every image every moment! Aaaahhhh I absolutely love it!!
Beautiful work Alan!
Truly wonderful work Alan, such great use of the light. I really love the very dark image of the older lady looking out of the window towards the end, but so many other extraordinary images!
Stunning work Alan, love the emotion you conveyed in the shots and the comedy you instilled in some of the images. Excellent job!
Totally digging your work Alan!!! So unbelievably good!
Ah man, the emotion!! Great set dude, and loving this image – https://www.alanlawphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/langdon-court-wedding-photographer-108.jpg – really gets to the heart of what we do: being everywhere to capture all the subtle nuances
The master has struck again, if only you blogged more often…..oh well it was worth the wait!!!! : )
What stunning work. Gorgeous set of photos!
Just found this wonderful set of photographs. The use of natural light is fantastic and done with great skill.
I especially like the first dance shots and the rim lighting effects.
