VIDEO: Behind The Frame: Sarah & Jim

Howdy folks. I thought it may be nice, maybe interesting for people to hear my thoughts behind some of my images… we all have different thought processes, different techniques, as wedding photographers, and I know I always find it personally very interesting to hear about other peoples’ approach, so here’s some of mine! I’ll look to hopefully make this a regular feature, and not just talking about specific images, but perhaps featuring lots of different tips, thoughts and ramblings on how I work. It’s definitely aimed more towards photographers, but even if you’re not one yourself, you may just find it interesting too…(notice I did say ‘may’!).

If you have any ideas on what you’d like me to cover in future videos, then just leave a comment below, or over on Facebook maybe, or even ping me one of those email things.

I also run my ‘Law School’ workshops, and 1:1 training sessions, too, so just holla if you’re interested in that.

The first image I talk about in the video above is a natural couple shot, from one of my favourite weddings of the year, Sarah & Jim in the Cotswolds (which I blogged over here). As well as the actual shot, I also talk a bit about my general approach to photographing the bride and groom, too. Hope you find it useful/interesting, and that my ugly mug doesn’t put you off too much…!

  1. Great little video. I’d love for you to go a little more in-depth about processing, and more about the way you shoot – anything really. I’ll keep an eye out for future videos.
