Rachel & Paul’s Islington Town Hall and Frederick’s Wedding
There’s something special about Islington Town Hall weddings. Maybe it’s the elegant architecture, the curve of the council chamber, or the way the London light filters through those tall windows – but most of all, it’s the atmosphere: full of excitement, laughter, and love.
Rachel and Paul’s day had all of that and more. It was the kind of wedding that reminded me why I love this work – real, unposed storytelling, full of personality and connection.

The First Dance: Two Mums, Two Phones, One Beautiful Moment
That look between them says it all. Rachel gazing up at her new husband, completely lost in the moment, while both mums proudly film from the sidelines. I love how modern weddings blend generations – the intimacy of the moment itself, surrounded by those wanting to hold on to it forever. A perfect mix of love, light, and laughter.

Emotion in Every Word
Tears, laughter, and everything in between. During Paul’s speech, Rachel couldn’t hold back her emotions – gently wiping her eyes as he spoke. These are the moments that documentary photography is made for: real, heartfelt, honest. No posing, no direction, just connection.

Ceremony Laughter at Islington Town Hall
If you’ve never been inside Islington Town Hall, the council chamber is stunning – rich wood, red leather seats, and an atmosphere that manages to feel grand yet personal. Rachel and Paul’s ceremony was full of joy, laughter, and that undeniable spark between them. I love this frame – both of them mid-laugh, surrounded by applause. You can feel the happiness in the room.

The Groomsmen Breakfast
The day started with laughter (always a good omen). Paul and his best man shared one of those unstoppable fits of giggles over breakfast. These quiet, early moments tell as much of the story as anything else – genuine friendship, a touch of nerves, and the start of something unforgettable.

A Kiss During Dinner at Frederick’s
At Frederick’s in Islington, the atmosphere was relaxed and full of warmth. Guests were chatting, glasses clinking, the light soft and golden – and right in the middle of it all, Rachel and Paul leaned in for a kiss. Totally unprompted, totally them. These are the frames that last: natural, fleeting, and full of meaning.

That Walk Between Ceremony and Celebration
One of my favourite parts of any Islington Town Hall wedding is the walk that follows. Stepping out onto Upper Street, newly married, into the heart of London – it’s such an electric feeling. Rachel and Paul led their guests to Frederick’s, bouquet raised triumphantly. It’s that in-between space, full of laughter, cheers, and the buzz of city life, that feels so alive.

Getting Ready – A Modern Reflection
Earlier in the day, during prep, I caught this layered perspective through the make-up artist’s phone screen – Rachel smiling, calm and radiant, moments before the whirlwind began. I love how modern wedding mornings often include moments like this: reflections, technology, and timeless beauty all in one frame.

A Kiss That Looks Posed (But Isn’t!)
Sometimes people assume that photos like this must be posed – but I promise, it wasn’t. During the ceremony, I was watching quietly, waiting for a moment of calm within the laughter, for the right composition to align with real emotion. And then it happened: that gentle kiss, that stillness. No direction, no staging, just patience and instinct.

Toasts and Celebration
Speeches are always such a rollercoaster – laughter, emotion, reflection, and joy. I love this image of everyone standing, glasses raised high in celebration of Rachel, her expression full of warmth as she took it all in. The toasts at Frederick’s captured that wonderful balance between elegance and ease that makes London weddings so special.

The First Dance (Again) – Pure Happiness
Same dance, different perspective. This time, a black and white close-up that focuses entirely on Rachel’s joy. Her laughter, the movement, the light behind them – it’s everything I love about capturing weddings.
A Day Full of Laughter, Love, and London Energy
From laughter-filled breakfasts to emotional speeches, from that walk down Upper Street to the glow of Frederick’s, Rachel and Paul’s wedding was a perfect blend of modern London life and timeless emotion. Every moment was natural, unposed, and full of heart – exactly the kind of day I love to capture.
