It sure is difficult trying to keep on top of blogging during this busy wedding season, but stick with me, as I’m doing my best! I’ve been looking forward to sharing Hayley and Mike’s wedding for a while now; it was a day really full of emotion (all weddings are, of course, but some definitely more than others) – from the high-excitement and nerves of a packed bridal prep room, to Mike holding back the tears as Hayley walked down the aisle, given away by her grandfather, I felt really privileged to capture it all for them.
I was treated with such warmth and friendliness, too – not just by the lovely couple, but also by all their family and friends – almost felt like a ‘guest with a camera’ (albeit with one that’s a bit bigger than most…!). They even sat me down with their friends for the wedding breakfast; so lovely! The Penventon Hotel is a great venue, too, and handily situated just five mins away from my home…
Before Hayley had even seen all her images, she wrote me the following (totally unsolicited) testimonial over on Facebook:
“When I was looking for a photographer I didnt have a clue where to start. I knew what I wanted but there are so many photographers in Cornwall. But as soon as I came across Alan’s website I immediately stopped looking. His style was perfect, I love the informal photos and the talent he has for capturing very intimate moments without people even noticing. I spoke to Alan and he was so relaxed and professional I immediately booked him. I was a massive worrier leading upto the wedding and kept ringing around making sure we were good to go. In all the (unnecessary) phone calls I made Alan was amazing, ensuring me everything would be fine. And it was…. On the day Alan was well…. Perfect! He was there in the background all day but it never felt as though he were the “photographer” he blended in with the wedding party, didnt intrude, he was like one of the guests. Even in the chaos of the wedding preparations in the morning he was the ultimate professional, in fact at times it was reassuring to have him there! I’d look at him with worried (actually terrified) eyes! And he would quietly nod and reassure me that all of this panic was completely normal and happens on most wedding mornings!! One of my cousins at the wedding is a professional photographer and was naturally observing Alan during the day and he said how hard Alan was working, the sheer number of photos he was taking and how he was dashing around the hotel capturing everything he could. We have had one preview so far of the pics he has taken and its beautiful. I cant wait to see our photos and im 100% confident that they will all be as stunning as our preview. If you are considering booking Alan for your special day then take my word for it you won’t find a better photographer! All the hype is true and completely deserved. Thank you Alan you are an absolute star! Cant wait to see our pics!” – Hayley & Mike x
