“I can’t say any more than simply thank you, Alan. We have had a wonderful evening looking through all of our wedding photos from you; you are a master of disguise, stealth and unnatural speed in how you get so quickly from place to place to always catch the perfect shot. The story you have told of Andrew’s and my perfect day is so true to the memories we have and every bit more on top, it’s as if you were in our heads capturing every moment. Thank you Alan xx”
Man, I love these two. Every single wedding I cover is special, of course, but when I get asked to capture a good friend’s day..well, it just adds an extra bucket of special sauce. I’ve known Andrew virtually ever since I moved down to Cornwall, and to be able to experience his wedding to the lovely Rich from the ‘prime’ position(s) throughout the day (because who else other than the photographer gets such a close and unique viewpoint to all the goings on at weddings? I’m very lucky!) was amazing.
Their venue was the lovely Prussia Cove in Cornwall, and it was my first time as a wedding photographer there (though I’ll be back in August as well). What a venue! Overlooking the sea, their outside ceremony taking place to the background of waves lapping the shore…just gorgeous.
There was a special atmosphere to this wedding, too, a real camaraderie – it felt like virtually their entire home town of St Just had not only turned out to watch them get wed, but had also helped out in some way – whether that be the catering, or making the cake, or just making everything run so smoothly. It was just so obvious that this couple mean a lot to a whole lot of people.
Gah, right, enough of the sentimentality Alan! On to a selection of their Prussia Cove (Porth-en-alls) wedding photos:
