Berkeley Square Hotel Wedding Photographer (The Square Club)

Jade & Pete know how to party! And so, indeed, do all their friends and family…!

It was my first time as a Square Club wedding photographer, and I was really impressed with the venue – a real gem in the heart of Bristol, with the fab Brandon Hill park (and amazing views!) just a few minutes walk around the corner. It’s also run by really lovely staff – happy to say that I’m now one of their recommended photographers, too, so hopefully I’ll be returning soon.

And what to say about Jade & Pete? Honestly, two super-lovely people who wanted a relaxed day with all their closest – and a raucous party, of course! I had photographed Jade’s friend’s wedding at Lusty Glaze Beach a couple of years ago, and their day was a super-relaxed party as well, and so I had a good idea that was what Jade & Pete were wanting for their day too. It was really lovely to see quite a few familiar faces from that Cornwall wedding in Bristol, as well – and of course the two amazing grooms, Tom & Al (who had flown over from Canada, no less!).

We had a bit of rain during the day, but the Berkeley Square Hotel is such a lovely venue for everyone to mill around and chat – with a lovely covered outdoor/courtyard space too. But then the clouds did break and myself and Jade & Pete had a little stroll around the adjacent park – as I’ve said before, this ‘couple time’ is totally optional, and, if you want it, I’m still not posing you; it’s just about you two having a bit of time together, and me capturing you naturally interacting. You can see one of the shots from that session below (the only one that’s in portrait orientation).

But apart from that small amount of time, and a few groups that the couple wanted, I was just doing my thing: Capturing everything naturally. I love Jade’s expressions during the ceremony, and one of my favourite moments was when Pete leaned in for a kiss *way before* the ‘you may now kiss the bride’ moment – ha, love it.
