Wedding Photographer Baddow Park House, Essex / Kirsten & Alex

Wedding Photographer Baddow Park House

If this wedding was a Friends episode, it’d probably be called ‘The One With The Cake’… if you scroll down to the images below, you’ll see why!

But all jokes aside, my first time as a Baddow Park House wedding photographer was so great; SO much emotion in Kirsten & Alex’s day, and that’s exactly what I love to capture. The speeches especially… just so much raw emotion. Baddow Park House itself is known for its picturesque setting, making it a popular choice for weddings in Essex. The venue is surrounded by beautiful gardens, and indeed, they got married outside – with some lush sunny weather too.

Let’s talk about some of the images below:

  1. During prep, Kirsten’s stylist films her swirling in her dress for a TikTok (well, I *think* it was for a TikTok…)
  2. I love this moment at weddings; when Kirsten had just arrived at the ceremony, with them both seeing each other for the first time that day. Love these natural reactions.
  3. A ‘couple time’ image, one of my favourites, too! For my ‘couple time’, I don’t take you away for hours at all – it’s usually just 5 – 10 mins, and it’s all about capturing you both naturally interacting; no posing or anything like that. Some of my couples don’t even want any ‘couple time’, and that’s great with me too!
  4. A close-up speech reaction; love Alex’s big laugh.
  5. An example of what I’d call a ‘non-portrait’. So, it’s still 100% totally natural – a shot of Alex’s mum during the speeches – but as it’s just one person, you could call it a portrait too. But a totally natural one, which is what I love to capture.
  6. A really emotional moment during the speeches: Alex’s brother – and Best Man – embracing, whilst both being embraced themselves. Purposefully captured to include their mum wiping a tear away as well.
  7. The reason this could be called ‘The One With The Cake’…! Don’t worry, they found it hysterical (and I was very happy to capture it; the only time the cake has fallen over in my almost 400 wedding career!)
  8. I like to get the guests and family reacting to the First Dance.
  9. I like this high angle, and Kirsten’s extended arm of triumph.
  10. Party-time! Close and in the action for intimate images like this.
